Guru Smt. Nishita Shah

Smt. Nishita Shah commenced her dance and Carnatic music education at the age of 4 under the tutelage of Smt. Bindu Shah and Late Shree Saunder Rajan Pillai. She is a ‘Nritya Visharad’ in Bharatanatyam from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Maha Vidhyalaya and Bharatiya Sangeet Samiti. She holds a Master of Science in E-Commerce Technology. Throughout the journey of 17 years of training in dance; she learned various Indian dance styles from renowned and experienced teachers. She performed worldwide as a professional dancer for 5 years with Padmashree Smt. Hema Malini in mythological story-based divine Ballets. 
Founder and Director of Nritya Arpan Dance School, Mrs. Shah has been teaching in Edmond for the last 11 years; where students undergo a systematic syllabus of Bharatanatyam followed by annual tests and also learn and perform Indian traditional folk dances. Mrs. Shah takes pride in imparting the sacred art of Bharatanatyam in expressing the purity of the Nalanda Style of International fame.  
Mrs. Shah is a recipient of the Global Citizen Award by WEF, the President's Volunteer Service Award, and the entertainment and culture category award by TAF. She has received recognition from the state of Oklahoma and had a featured article in the Daily Oklahoman in 2016.  
Being a mother and teacher of Ria, it is a proud feeling as well as extremely fulfilling for Mrs. Shah to be able to pass the tradition down to her. It is a dream-come-true for her to see Ria grown to perform with confidence and grace.
